Naturally at home in Kitsilano

Located at the southeast edge of Kitsilano, The Arbutus is in a walkable neighborhood and is surrounded by shopping, dining and easy access to transit. Within walking distance to the proposed Arbutus St. Millennium Line train station as well as the proposed LRT line along the Arbutus Corridor, The Arbutus is also right beside the bike and pedestrian route of the new Arbutus Greenway.

Inspired by its natural surroundings, The Arbutus features recessed balconies, generous patios and private roof decks with seasonal planters and gardens. There is an amenity space on the ground floor which looks out to a linear plaza lined with trees and integrated bench seating.

Green Infrastructure

The Arbutus will also feature a unique passive environmental feature in the form of a living green solar screen, as well as user controlled movable solar shading. Together they will mitigate heat gain during the summer and allow solar gain in the winter, reducing cooling and heating loads. The extensive greenery on the roof top and the linear planters along the east and west facades will also help retain the rainwater and manage storm water discharge. Along with the environmental benefits, the layers of screens will add visual depth and lightness to the building, animating the facade and give seasonality and softness to the community, enhancing livability and reducing environmental impact.
